Asia Pacific Executive Director, Israel Innovation Authority [Brief Biography] Mr. Luvton leads international collaboration programs with Asia at the Israel Innovation Authority, the country’s leading agency to promote RD&I among the Israeli industry. Kazuhiro SAKURADA, Ph.D. Senior Researcher, Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. Deputy Program Director, Medical Sciences Innovation Hub Program (MIH), RIKEN [Brief Biography] Completed the master’s program at Osaka University Graduate School of Science in 1988. In the same year, he joined Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd. and engaged in drug development research. During that time, he served as visiting research fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University and at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. After that he held various positions including Head of the Research Center Japan of Schering, Germany; Executive Officer of Nihon Schering; Executive Officer and Head of the Research Center of Bayer Yakuhin; and Chief Scientific Officer of iZumi Bio, USA. Since September 2008 he has been working for Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. Since 2011 he has served as a member (and special advisor) of the research strategy committee at RIKEN, and since 2013 he has also acted as a specially appointed fellow for the Center for Research and Development Strategy (CRDS) of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and Project Leader at the Kobe site for MEXT’s Center of Innovation Science and Technology-based Radical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (COI STREAM).
