HOME > Keihanna Research Complex project > Shared Use of Facilities
The Keihanna Research Complex project is working to improve a range of facilities and promote their shared use to enable them to serve as a core for triggering open innovation in the area. At the moment, MC-Lab is operating to demonstrate fusion research in different fields, while Fab Space is operating as a place for idea creation in human resources development.
MC-Lab (Meta-Comfort Lab) was established to offer an environment for verification and experiment. This facility obtains various data regarding ‘meta-comfort’ with a focus on ‘intellectual control of the five senses environment’, ‘five senses interaction’, and ‘estimation of psychosomatic state’. It also supports resident participation activities in the area with a view to conducting an experimental study.
To advance producer development backed by the technologies and expertise gathered around the Keihanna area, Fab (=Fabrication×Fabulous) Space has been set up for the first time in the area.
Through human exchange with ‘technology’ as a common language, and through individual skill development activities using state-of-the-art machine tools such as 3D printer, Keihanna’s diverse human resources gather in Fab-Space, forming a base to allow the Research Complex project to take root in the area and continue to grow in the future.
